| | I haven't the time to do much posting. Here are some random thoughts.
1. People in their 30s or 40s, and those with higher educations levels, are more prone to drink bottled water than other segments of the population, the study found. Now I understand that those with higher educations have higher incomes so can afford bottled water but shouldn't they also understand that that the bottled water is virtually identical to tap water. And it's stupid ship water all the way the from Fiji. What a waste of jet fuel.
2. A lot of fried chicken recipes call for soaking in buttermilk. How does that affect those of us who are latose intolerant?
3. Did you hear the story of the guy who's cell phone burst into flames and he was seriously burned? Turns out it wasn't the cell phone. Despite being burned the Nokia 2125i powered up and still works. I remember having a Nokia 6162 phone. Man, that was a good phone. Virtually bulletproof.
4. What happens when you make a mix tape (CD nowadays, I guess). Is it an expression of you? Because, ought I feel guilt when I don't like all the songs in other people's mixes? Do those songs represent hidden or misundertood parts of their (or my) nature, destined to be unknowable? [Perhaps I should research online for a whisper of a thought of someone's article about mix tapes... why try to rewrite Shakespeare?]
5. I suppose it would be a bad idea to sign up for a badminton tournament at the end of February when I haven't picked up a racquet to hit anything buy flies in the last 6 months. But i really want to play some badminton. Partly because I think all this volleyball has slowed down my reflexes and I hope to regain my speed. The other part is less noble. I want to play some singles where the only person I can blame for losing is myself.
6. Apparently, recently on PBS there was documentary about China. During this documentary there was a part about cancer victims due to the pollution with a scene of old woman in the final stages of cancer. She was virtually skeletal yet her breasts were digitally blurred. What?! PBS is so afraid of the stupid $500,000 fine that the FCC might impose of showing "indecency" that they blurred a pair of shriveled breasts? I remember watching Chicago Hope (tv hospital drama) which showed the breasts of teenage character in a story arc dealing with breast cancer. How is it we mock other cultures who cover their women head to toe and yet we can't seem to understand that nudity is not necessarily sexual. Perhaps the ones that protest the most are the ones that are the ones that cannot control themselves. They should simply not watch TV. I feel like we are living in the 1950s. The popularity of shows like High School Musical support this. (I never pass a chance to mock High School Musical.) One step forward, 2 steps back. What's next? Repealing civil rights?
7. Our US Attorney General Robert Gonzalez testified that he does not believe the Constitution grants the right of Habeas Corpus... even tho the constitution says "Clause 2: The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." Where did he get his license to practise law?
8. This music site is super cool. It's like the youtube of voice.
